Tracy Lawrence…Still as good as he ever was.

We had the awesome opportunity to have the famous Tracy Lawrence at our little county fair last night. Some might not think this to be a big deal but I did. When I was around 12 years old he was the first artist I ever saw in concert at the Eastern Idaho State Fair. Last night I made my way up to as close to the front stage as I could get and just stood there and sang and watched with awe…He really is still one of my favorite country artists. I also had the opportunity to talk with him for a few minutes he is such a nice guy too which makes me like him even more. I am really excited about his new CD being released August 20th “Headlights, Taillights and Radios”

I do want to mention Tracy’s opener’s too. Sarah Darling did an amazing job she has such a beautiful voice and I think everyone enjoyed listening to her. She put’s on more of a swaying to the music show than a get on your feet and jump but that is why she went first 🙂 Next up was Aces up an up and coming country rock band. They pumped up the audience perfectly to get ready for Tracy. It really was one of the best concerts I have been to, hitting so many different types of people from young to old, rock and country.  Sarah Darling and the whole Ace’s up crew were all kind and a lot of fun to have around.

The Strong Man’s Biggest Fan

My husband has nicknamed my daughter Templeton. As in the fair rat on Charlotte’s web. She is just that a fair rat. She is all over the fair everyday and through the night. She will tell you what shows are good to watch what shows are not and were the best treats are at. Her absolute favorite show this year is The Strong Man. I really think she has been to almost all of his show’s. Her favorite trick is “fry pan roll” were he rolls a frying pan into a tube. I’m not sure if she is getting obsessed with muscles because of the training I am doing. I don’t think it is entirely a bad thing if she is. John (The Strong Man) is a genuine, kind family man. I have been able to visit with him and I love the way he talks about his wife with that twinkle in his eyes and his children. Did I mention he is a nurse in real life? If you ever have the chance to see the Strong Man you are in for an incredible treat.

Killer legs

First I have to explain I am not going to be going to the gym more than likely at all the next 10 days or so. My blog has the word “fair” in the title for a reason. I live on a fairgrounds and help manage them and this time of year I help with fair week. Well today marks day one of the Sublette County Fair. The days are about 10-14 hours days (or longer) so to wake up early and go to the gym is impossible for me for the next few days. I will get plenty of cardio. Hopefully I can eat enough that is always the hard part when things get busy…I forget to eat even though I do have meal timers on my phone. I have stalked up on Quest protein bars, greek yogurt mixed with protein powder, veggies, water and a few other things to keep me going healthy and strong throughout the day. It is fair so I am not going to lie I may indulge in a burger or two also. I mean really!! But I wanted to end strong until my next workout so I woke up early today. I was actually kind of dreading this new leg exercise but at the same time excited to see how I could handle it. Wellllll it was T.O.U.G.H but I got through it and I loved it. I am sure I will barley be able to walk in the morning or the next few days but for me that is my reminder to stay on track. I worked for it hard for those sore legs I’m not going to screw it up by going all crazy on funnel cakes, hand dipped corn dogs, philly cheese sandwiches…well you get the picture 🙂 I hope to share the going’s on at my County Fair.

New Routine Woohoo!!!

My trainer has given me some new routines! I loved the old ones but I am so excited to do something new. I started the new ones today and can’t wait to finish the week and see what the next month has in store as far as my body sculpting goes. My quote for the day “spot on Macro’s”. Does not make any sense for me to do a hard workout and not keep my nutrition in check. The cravings for something can be so hard to over come. This has taken me awhile to really grasp. I am a sugarholic! When I started this journey with my trainer I thought for sure it would be the same as any other “diet” feeling deprived all the time and hungry. I was Soooo wrong. To build muscle you must eat to build muscle. It is a lot harder than it sounds. I do not feel deprived at all. I eat good healthy foods. I do have the occasional craving that I take care of usually with a sugar free reese’s peanut butter cup or two and that is all I need.

Last Week…This week

Here are some progress pictures from last week and this week. I am flexing different in the second but I know this last week I had some great improvements. I have been training for I 13 weeks or so. My weight has not changed hardly at all but that is no big deal to me whatsoever. My pants are looser my legs are tighter my arms are visibly stronger and I am loving my back. I never knew there were so many cool looking muscle back there 🙂 The best thing of all I am loving my body more and more everyday. Not vainly loving my body but excepting the body that I was given and making it my own.

I did a 5K run on the morning of the 4th. I was planning on just doing the mile fun run thinking that was all I could handle. I ended up running the 5K I think it was in 31 minutes. I ran 3/4 of the time I was so surprised. I do not run EVER! I do not train on the treadmill. I have never been a fan of it. Between my weight routine and biking intervals that is about it as far as exercise goes. In doing those exercises my body has changed so much inside and out. My lung capacity is through the roof compared to what it used to be and my hips didn’t hurt after I did my run. I am grateful to have a great trainer and friends and family who are so awesome and supportive of me and my decision to be a fitness competitor.

Today was such a good workout. I have  some friends that have been coming with me in the mornings to lift weights and such. it has been so fun and I think has made a world of difference. I find myself lifting heavier and doing more it is so nice. I think they are liking it too. Thanks girls for joining me…I can’t wait to post update pictures on Saturday..I feel like I am finally getting the hang of things.
